A 16-year-old male faces four charges following an investigation into a weekend firearms incident in Regina.
The male youth cannot be named in accordance with the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, however he was arrested at about 4:15 p.m. on October 8 at a residence in the 700 block of Cameron Street. The Regina Police Service responded to a call that had someone pulling a firearm on another male inside a house in that area. Several other people were believed to be inside the residence at the time. After setting up a safety perimeter, officers established contact with a male inside who turned out to be the 28-year-old victim. He was able to exit the house through a window with the remaining occupants of the residence leaving peacefully shortly thereafter. A subsequent search of the house found the 16-year-old suspect with a large knife, a substantial amount of ammunition and two improvised firearms. The youth made his first appearance in Youth Court Tuesday morning.
