After a one-week low of 271 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded Tuesday in Saskatchewan. more were expected in Wednesday’s look at the dashboard on the provincial government website.
But, the latest update showed just 327 new cases of the novel coronavirus, along with 343 recoveries, meaning Saskatchewan’s active case count went down by 27 from Tuesday to 4,423. In addition, there are 11 fewer COVID-19 cases in hospital in the province at 337 while the number of I-C-U infections also went down by four to 76. However, all the positive reports were tempered by 11 new virus-related fatalities, upping Saskatchewan’s death total to 764. Tuesday also saw almost 3,800 more doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered from Thanksgiving Monday, at 4,305. 1,617 of those shots were given to provincial residents now considered to be fully vaccinated. There were 2,825 COVID-19 tests administered on Tuesday as well.

- 17,835 cases are from the North area (7,862 North West, 7,317 North Central, 2,656 North East)
- 17,625 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 14,479 cases are from the Regina area
- 8,818 cases are from the South area (1,995 South West, 2,709 South Central, 4,114 South East)
- 8,724 cases are from the Far North area (4,087 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,096 Far North East)
- 4,926 cases are from the Central area (1,323 Central West, 3,603 Central East)
- 650 cases have pending residence information
- 4,423 cases are considered active and 67,870 cases are considered recovered
- More than one quarter (26.9%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39
- Almost one quarter (24.6%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated
- As of October 13th, a total of 337 individuals are hospitalized, including 261 inpatient hospitalizations and 76 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 337 patients, 254 (75.4%) were not fully vaccinated.
- Eleven (11) new deaths reported today. 764 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.0%.
- 1,180,568 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of October 11th, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 995,033 tests performed per million population. The national rate was 1,172,788 tests performed per million population.
- As of today, the 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 465 (38.6 new cases per 100,000).
