A CEW, commonly referred to as a taser was discharged by Regina Police during the arrest and apprehension of a man Saturday night. Around 11:45, officers were called to a home in the 2100 block of Rose Street for a report of an unwanted guest who also happened to have warrants out for his arrest. The man then became aggressive when officers tried to arrest him. A CEW was then discharged and man was then taken into custody after receiving treatment from EMS. 54 year-old Douglas Russell is facing a charge of Assaulting a Peace Officer. He is due in court tomorrow (mon).
