The work is done and the ribbon has been cut for the official opening of three passing lanes on Highway 3 west of Prince Albert. It was a $9.1-million project. The province says in a news release, this is one of many highway construction projects in the Prince Albert area. This past July, five sets of passing lanes were opened on Highway 2 north.
Later this fall, pre-construction is scheduled to begin on about 8 kilometres of twinning west of Prince Albert. Shellbrook Reeve, Doug Oleksyn, says he is pleased to see these highway safety improvements, meaning traffic moving better with fewer lives lost.
The province says, “Construction of 30 new sets of passing lanes have and will be added to Saskatchewan’s road network over next year, which is in addition to 27 sets of passing lanes built in the last four years.”
