The Greg Fertuck trial is now into week 8 at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench. He is charged with 1st degree murder and indignity to human remains in the death of his wife, Sheree Fertuck. The trial was originally scheduled to begin at the end of March, but Justice Richard Danyliuk said with the spike in COVID-19 variant cases in Regina at the time, where some of the witnesses would be travelling from, it was decided to reschedule to the fall. He noted that the trial would be complex, including evidence of an undercover police operation, and for some key witnesses, they would need to attend in person to ensure a fair trial.
Sheree Fertuck was 51 when she disappeared from a Kenaston area gravel pit in December of 2015. Her body was never found.
