The President and CEO of Junior Achievement Canada has confirmed that operations have temporarily suspended at JA Saskatchewan, and the national organization has taken on an interim leadership role, but adds because the provincial group is a separate legal entity, the national organization doesn’t have responsibility over day to day operations.
Junior Achievement is a youth business education organization. Scott Hillier says what he knows is that JA Saskatchewan lost a key, substantial funding source over a year ago and has been trying to attract new funds since then, but hasn’t been able to do so, which meant the local Board had to make the difficult decision of suspending operations and laying off all staff.
JA Canada is seeking new funding and Hillier hopes the programming will be back as soon as possible.
