An arrest for a robbery in Saskatoon will see the suspect in court on First Degree Murder charges in Regina.
On Monday afternoon, the Saskatoon Police Service’s Guns and Gangs Unit, along with the Tactical Support Unit, arrested an 18-year-old man in a garage behind a home on Rita Crescent in connection to an armed robbery. The robbery took place at a business in the 2600 block of Broadway Avenue around 10 p.m. on October 22.
Police allege the 18-year-old was one of two men to enter the store, demanding cash and fled. On Monday, the Saskatoon Police Department had to wait a few hours to enter the garage when a suspect set a small fire inside before being apprehended.
Thomas Louis Bodechon was in court in Saskatoon Tuesday on charges of armed robbery, using a firearm while committing an indictable offence and possession of a firearm while prohibited from doing so.
While investigating the robbery, Saskatoon Police learned that the18-year-old was wanted on a first degree murder charge in his home-town of Regina.
It was anticipated that Bodechon’s court case in Saskatoon will be remanded and that he will be transported to Regina later this week to appear in Provincial Court there. The charge stems from the death of Kade Luke Neapetung, who was found deceased in a home in the 1000 block of Angus Street in Regina on October 18.
