Tristen Robins scored three of the five goals in a 6:16 span of the second period as the Saskatoon Blades powered their way to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Moose Jaw Warriors Wednesday night at SaskTel Centre.
All three of the San Jose Sharks’ draft pick’s shots found the back of the net, two of them on the power play, as the soon-to-be 20-year-old centre recorded the second hat-trick of his W-H-L career and re-claimed the W-H-L points scoring lead with 19, including seven goals, in just eight games played. Robins also assisted on Kyle Crnkovic’s short-handed goal in the second period goal explosion. Crnkovic added three assists as he and Robins each ended up with four-point nights. Rhett Rhinehart opened the scoring in the first period while Brandon Lisowsky also connected for the Bridge City Bunch as they won their fifth game-in-a-row and extended their streak to eight games with gaining at least one point in the standings. Defencemen Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Pasha Bocharov each chipped in with a pair of helpers. Saskatoon product Brayden Yager and Lucas Brenton scored 62 seconds apart in the third period to spoil Nolan Maier’s shutout bid. The 7-1-1 Blue and Gold extended their streaks for scoring at least four goals in a game to eight games and seven straight games with a power play goal while handing the 3-6-0 Warriors their fourth consecutive loss. The Blades hit the road this weekend for their first games in Alberta in almost 21 months since early January, 2020 when they visit Lethbridge Friday and Medicine Hat Saturday. Following is the game summary, courtesy the W-H-L as well as Les Lazaruk’s post-game show interviews with Saskatoon head coach Brennan Sonne, plus Robins and Bocharov…..
