Saturday night, Corman Park Police set up a check stop on Township Road 360 and Rural Road 3051.
Officers had arrested, in less than two hours, three drivers for impaired driving and two other drivers for blowing a warning on a roadside test.
Officers were joined by members of MADD Saskatoon who handed out gifts for drivers who were driving sober.
This morning, Mothers Against Drunk Driving Saskatoon will launch its annual Project Red Ribbon campaign encouraging people to plan ahead for a sober ride home during the holiday season.
Also, on Saturday afternoon, a Combined Traffic Officer on Hwy 16 just west of the city had a truck come up from behind at 162 km/h. The driver allegedly had open liquor in the vehicle and was found to be over .08. Various charges were laid under the Criminal Code and Highway Traffic Act.
