Hopefully by next fall or Christmas 2022, Rose Garden Hospice in Prince Albert will be able to open its doors.
That’s according to the chair of the Rose Garden Hospice Association, Marina Mitchell, who says, the ground breaking ceremony was in May, the services are in now and work has begun on putting in piles to secure the foundation.
Recently, the Prince Albert Lions Club, along with other local Lions Clubs in the surrounding area, donated $100,000 which brings the non-profit closer to its $4-million goal.
Mitchell estimates there is still $1-million left to be raised.
The hospice will have ten suites for terminally ill patients, with their own bathrooms and temperature controls, so they don’t have to spend the last days of their lives in a hospital.
It will also have a tub room, a kitchen, counselling areas, an indoor garden, a library, and self-contained family rooms so families or larger groups can get some rest while staying near their loved one.
