Meadow Lake RCMP were alerted about a woman being held against her will by armed individuals at a home in the 500 block of 7th Avenue West early Monday afternoon. That’s what led to the police alerting the public about an incident requiring heavy police presence and five nearby schools enacting their hold-and-secure protocols.

When police arrived, officers report that the occupants refused to let them in and barricaded themselves inside and it was confirmed a woman was inside being held against her will. With the assistance of multiple RCMP units, police entered the home just after 4 in the afternoon and safely removed the victim, who wasn’t physically injured.

Sgt. Stephen Hurst of the Meadow Lake RCMP says it was a dangerous situation, but they were able to quickly gather the specialized RCMP resources necessary to rescue the woman.

Three men were arrested at the scene. 32 year old Corey Bouvier, 38 year old Kevin Bouvier of Meadow Lake, and 26 year old Ronald Campbell of Buffalo Narrows, are facing charges that include forcible confinement, obstructing a peace officer and resisting arrest.
