A 39 year-old man in Regina is facing multiple charges following a weapons offence in that city on Sunday. Around 1 a.m., police were called to a weapons offence in the 900 block of Victoria Avenue. A caller to police stated that two people in a van approached him, threatened him with a firearm and took some of his belongings. Once police arrived they couldn’t find the victim, although they found a van driving that matched the description given. Initial attempts to pull the van over failed. During the pursuit, the van allegedly hit a parked vehicle and drifted over onto oncoming traffic at one point. The van finally came to a stop once a tire deflation device was used. The driver attempted to flee but was apprehended by the Canine Unit. Police found a number of bladed weapons inside the van. Lindsay Hunter is facing a number of charges including failing to stop after an accident.
