For the third time in four days, the dashboard reading on the Government of Saskatchewan’s website registered fewer than 100 new cases of COVID-19.
There were 85 new cases, along with 104 recoveries and one new novel coronavirus-related death in Tuesday’s update, leaving 1,112 active cases. From that number, there are 171 hospitalized individuals, including 42 infections being treated in an I-C-U. Additionally, provincial hospitals have 52 non-COVID patients in an I-C-U while there are 11 Saskatchewan COVID I-C-U patients in Ontario. Another 11 have been brought back to the province and one more patient is expected in the next 48 hours, depending on the weather.
Highlights
- As of November 16th, there are 85 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 79,610 reported cases.
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (7), Far North East (1), North West (7), North Central (3), North East (3), Saskatoon (14), Central West (2), Central East (16), Regina (20), South Central (2) and South East (1) zones and nine (9) new cases have pending residence information.
- Six (6) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (from October 3 (1)), North West (from September 25 (1), October 4 (3)) and Regina (from November 13 (1)) zones.
- 69 previously reported cases have been removed from the total case counts. These had been reported as cases in error, as review of these cases found they were negative PCR results. The date of collection for these specimens range from June 27 to October 12, 2021.

- 19,458 cases are from the North area (8,646 North West, 8,002 North Central, 2,810 North East)
- 19,054 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 15,649 cases are from the Regina area
- 9,815 cases are from the South area (2,142 South West, 2,908 South Central, 4,765 South East)
- 9,245 cases are from the Far North area (4,342 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,362 Far North East)
- 5,833 cases are from the Central area (1,415 Central West, 4,418 Central East)
- 556 cases have pending residence information
- 1,112 cases are considered active and 77,601 cases are considered recovered.
- More than one-fourth (25.9%) of new cases are in the age category of 40 to 59.
- Two in five (40.6%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 12 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
- As of November 16th, a total of 171 individuals are hospitalized; including 129 inpatient hospitalizations, and 42 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 171 patients, 111 (64.9%) were not fully vaccinated.
- In addition to SK ICU counts, there are 11 residents in out of province ICUs. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard. Since yesterday’s report, there has been one repatriation.
- One (1) new deaths reported today. 897 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
- 1,254,384 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of November 14, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,058,231 tests performed per million population. The national rate of 1,249,838 tests performed per million population.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 110 (9.1 new cases per 100,000).

On October 22nd, we revised the headings on the “COVID-19 new cases and vaccination status” table. The heading for Vaccinated was updated to “First dose >=21.” The data in this table has always been based on this definition.
