Power outages
SaskPower says its crews were working diligently overnight to restore power to areas affect by the winter storm and blizzard but some roads are impassable and high winds were making it dangerous to affect repairs. SaskPower says repairs will resume in the morning as soon as they can be carried out safely and its crews will continue to respond to high-priority calls throughout the night where it is safe to do so.
Areas which remained without power overnight:
• Approximately 2110 customers in the area west of Melfort including St. Brieux, Kinistino and James Smith Cree Nation;
• Approximately 200 customers in the Antelope Lake, Rush Lake and Herbert areas;
• Approximately 200 customers in the Broadview and Ochapowace area;
• 87 customers in Regina;
• 45 customers in the Town of Neudorf;
• Part of the town of Eastend;
• There may be additional smaller pockets of customers who remain off overnight.
