Moose Jaw Police are informing residents of fraudulent phone calls that have been received by residents recently. Police say the caller claims to have kidnapped a loved one. The caller then instructs the family member to drive to a financial institution and wait for further instructions. In some cases a child in distress can be heard in the background. Police believe it’s a recording. Moose Jaw Police believe the information about resident’s loved ones are obtained through social media. Police would like to remind the public to avoid posting personal information on social media which may available to people outside of their followers.
