Saskatchewan will be receiving enough doses to provide first shots to all children ages 5 to 11.
More than 112,000 doses are expected to arrive in the province beginning today (tues). Officials with the province say Saskatchewan’s larger centres will receive the shots first and the communities that receive vaccines Tuesday will have appointments available beginning on Wednesday.
Remote locations will begin their pediatric clinics on Friday. The Saskatchewan Health Authority website and social channels will communicate exact start times and dates of clinics.
The province also plans to deliver clinics in more than 100 schools. Information on the in-school clinics will be shared with parents and students directly.
The dose administered to children will be smaller the amount of the adult version. Side effects from the shot are expected and should not last longer than one to two days.
