The City’s transportation committee will discuss phase one of the Saskatoon Freeway Project at today’s (mon) meeting. The first phase is expected to run north of the city between Highway 16 east, past Wanuskewin Road to the east side of the South Saskatchewan River. The report heading to committee is to be received as information and won’t include any decisions on costs or decisions on the exact route, as those are part of on-going consultations. The city report says there’s still no date for the official approval of the project, although over the next three years, the planning study will take place. The planning study will be divided into three phases with each phase taking a year. Phase 1 is considered the most difficult phase due to the existing highways and rail lines. The province also has a survey currently available that residents can take part in. The purpose of the survey is to gather feedback from residents on the freeway project. The survey can be found at: https://saskatoonfreeway.org/survey/
