Saskatchewan’s Official Opposition would like to see vaccination leave expanded to include parents who need to leave work to take their children to get a COVID-19 vaccination.
Leader Ryan Meili states that the NDP called for the government to create a proactive plan for the pediatric vaccine rollout over a month ago.
He believes this leave would be a simple step to make sure it is as easy as possible for children to get vaccinated.
Back in March, the Sask Party government created three hours of paid leave for people to get their shots, but at this point it’s not available for parents who need to take their children to get vaccinated.
