A 34 year old Saskatchewan man has died in an accident involving a semi and a passenger vehicle near Redcliff, Alberta on Highway 41 North.
Local RCMP officers responded around 9:30 Monday morning. Police say the preliminary investigation indicates it was a head on collision.
The semi then went off the shoulder of the road and rolled. It was hauling flammable liquid which was a significant risk to the public so the highway was closed for several hours to investigate and clean the substance up.
The 34 year old Saskatchewan driver of the passenger vehicle was declared dead at the scene. His passenger, a 30 year old Saskatchewan woman, was transported to Medicine Hat with serious injuries. The 49 year old driver of the semi had minor injuries. RCMP continue to investigate the accident.
