The Saskatchewan Roughriders return to practice Tuesday in advance of Friday’s visit to Calgary.
It’s a first place showdown as the Green and White lead the C-F-L West Division with a 10-4 record. But, the 9-5 Stampeders can take over top spot with a home victory as they will hold the tie-breaker over the Riders by virtue of winning both games in the season series.

SIGNED TO PRACTICE ROSTER:
- American linebacker Gary Johnson Jr.
Johnson (6’0 – 230 lbs) comes to the Roughriders after initially signing with the Kansas City Chiefs and attending 2019 training camp with Washington Redskins. Johnson played in two preseason games for Washington making three tackles. In a two-year collegiate career at the University of Texas, Johnson recorded 150 tackles, 22.5 tackles for loss, eight-and-a-half sacks and three forced fumbles in 26 games. His success saw him named to the 2018 Bednarik Award and Butkus Award watch lists and to the second team All-Big 12. Prior to becoming a Longhorn, the Alabama native was a highly ranked junior college prospect at Dodge City Community College. Johnson holds a school-record 215 tackles over two seasons while also adding 11.5 sacks and five interceptions.
