A Saskatoon Police Service traffic stop resulted in the seizure of a can of bear spray, an imitation gun, two bladed weapons, almost 15 grams of meth, a cell phone, $235 cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. The Police Service reports that officers conducted the traffic stop on a vehicle in the 100 block of Avenue H South around 2 in the morning on Wednesday. It turned out to be a ride share service with three passengers.
Police identified a man and woman with outstanding warrants and they were arrested without incident. Officers allege the third passenger appeared to be under the influence of an intoxicant and had several uncapped needles around him and a bag of meth which he was trying to conceal. The officers tried to help the man, but say then then realized he was just pretending to be intoxicated. He too was taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle was released.
A 31 year old woman and 38 year old man are facing multiple weapons related charges and drug trafficking and possession charges. A second 38 year old man was arrested on outstanding warrants.
