The Government of Saskatchewan says job numbers released by Statistics Canada for November show the province’s unemployment rate fell to 5.2 per cent from 7.1 per cent a year ago, also down from 6.2 per cent a month ago.
The seasonally adjusted national average is 6.0 per cent.
The government also says Saskatchewan gained 10,100 jobs in November 2021 compared to the same period last year and of those 7,500 were full-time jobs.
The Minister responsible says they continue to address current labour shortages in certain sectors. Jeremy Harrison said, Through funding for skills training programs, as well as the new Hard-to-Fill Skills Immigration Pilot in order to ensure this strength continues.”
