Saskatchewan reported 68 new cases of COVID-19 Saturday. The Saskatoon zone accounted for 15 of the new infections while the South East zone tallied 11 new cases. Hospitalizations are down six to 130 with 33 people receiving care in an ICU. There are also an additional four Saskatchewan residents receiving care in Ontario. No new deaths were reported Saturday. The seven-day average for new cases is at 63.
Below are the highlights posted to the Government of Saskatchewan’s website:
- As of December 4th, there are 68 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 81,293 reported cases.
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (1), Far North East (6), North West (6), North Central (8), Saskatoon (15), Central West (1), Central East (5), Regina (7), South Central (4), South East (11), and four (4) new cases have pending residence information.
- Two (2) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the North Central (from November 2 (1)), and Central East (from November 2 (1)) zones.
- 81,293 cases are confirmed.
- 19,846 cases are from the North area (8,824 North West, 8,185 North Central, 2,837 North East)
- 19,377 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 15,873 cases are from the Regina area
- 10,219 cases are from the South area (2,191 South West, 2,980 South Central, 5,048 South East)
- 9,360 cases are from the Far North area (4,398 Far North West, 541 Far North Central, 4,421 Far North East)
- 6,083 cases are from the Central area (1,439 Central West, 4,644 Central East)
- 535 cases have pending residence information
- 722 cases are considered active and 79,642 cases are considered recovered.
- Just over one-quarter (26.5%) of new cases are in the age category of 20 to 39.
- Almost one-half (45.0%) of new cases eligible for vaccination (aged 5 years and older) were fully vaccinated.
- As of December 4th, a total of 130 individuals are hospitalized, including 97 inpatient hospitalizations and 33 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 130 patients, 106 (81.5%) were not fully vaccinated.
- In addition to SK ICU counts, there are four residents receiving out of province care in hospital. As these patients are receiving care out of province, this number is not included in the hospitalization counts in the dashboard.
- No (0) new deaths reported today. 929 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%.
- 1,286,102 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of December 2nd, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 1,085,829 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,283,788 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 63 (5.3 new cases per 100,000).
