It’s getting increasingly difficult for many university students to maintain grades while paying the bills. The President of the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union says average tuition increases of close to three-and-a-half percent has made affordability the biggest challenge for cash-strapped students. Regan Ratt-Misponas points out some are working as many as three jobs while carrying a full slate of subjects at school. Ratt-Misponas says there are students contemplating taking a year or two off school and working to afford a return to the classroom. The other issue is repaying a large student loan debt after graduation.
