Yesterday (sat) afternoon, the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to home in the 3000 block of 7th Street East where the owner reported that her house was filing with smoke after lighting sage outside. Once crews arrived, they found a hole burnt into the structure of the home. Using a thermal imaging camera, crews were able to identify minor heat in the wall. A hole was then cut from the outside to ensure the blaze was fully extinguished. Minor damage to the home occurred as a result of the fire. The SFD reminds residents to never leave an open heat source unattended to avoid an accidental fire.
