The Smeaton RCMP have been told by residents in various Saskatchewan communities that they have received suspicious automated phone calls claiming to be from the Smeaton Detachment.

The message asks the person answering to press 1 to provide more information.

RCMP say these calls are not coming from the Detachment, and the advice is if you receive such a call, hang up immediately and don’t provide any information to the caller.
