Santa Claus brought some joy to kids at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital this past week. The Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation says patients watched from their rooms as Santa rode up in style in a side-by-side quad. Santa visited with the patients, taking COVID-19 safety into consideration.
The children then received a special gift and a keepsake photo. Activities throughout the week at the hospital included special family movie nights, decorating gingerbread houses, sugar cookies and snow globes along with plenty of music and signing. The upcoming Holiday Market in the Child Life Zone next week will give patients and their families an opportunity to shop for a special gift for each other when they aren’t able leave the hospital.
Patients earn “Sunshine Bucks” foe completing treatments and having a positive attitude. The “Sunshine Bucks” can then be cashed in to help buy a gift a special family member.
