The University of Regina Winter 2022 term is going to look a lot like Winter 2021.

The University will shift to remote learning due to the accelerating spread of the highly transmissible COVID-19 Omicron variant in Saskatchewan and Canada.

University of Regina officials say this means it will institute a two-week pause to its planned return to primarily in-person instruction. All courses will be delivered remotely up to and including Saturday, January 22.

As well, classes will not begin on Wednesday, January 5 as originally scheduled, but instead will commence the next week, on Monday, January 10. Remote learning will continue until Saturday, January 22, with a target date of Monday, January 24 for the return of in-person instruction.

An update from the University of Saskatchewan as of yesterday indicates based on the most recent information and data available, USask is currently maintaining its plans for increased on-campus activities, beginning in January, with a larger number of classes delivered face-to-face in the winter term. However, USask officials say they are closely monitoring the spread of the Omicron variant and that class delivery plans could change.
