The Saskatoon Wildlife Federation’s Hunt 4 Hunger Program has brought much valued meat into the freezers at the Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre.

This morning (weds), the SWF donated close to 600 pounds of ground venison.

Deborah Hamp with the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre says, “Each year skilled hunters and the hardworking staff and volunteers at the Saskatoon Wildlife Federation provide high quality protein for our emergency food baskets and we are grateful for their continued support.”

Todd Holmquist, Executive Director of Saskatoon Wildlife Federation says in the past 11 years the Hunt 4 Hunger program has provided over 13,000 lbs of meat to the Saskatoon Food Bank & Learning Centre.

The program gives hunters an opportunity to donate their extra meat throughout the hunting season.

This year, the SWF partnered with the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment to supply and help process the meat.
