A 17-year-old male from the George Gordon First Nation is dead following a Wednesday evening vehicle-pedestrian accident south of Punnichy.

At about 6:30 p.m. on December 22, Punnichy R-C-M-P responded to the collision on grid road 640, about eight kilometres south of the town. The adult male driver of the vehicle remained at the scene. The victim’s family has been notified with R-C-M-P not releasing his name. No charges have been laid. The road has been re-opened after being closed during the initial investigation. Punnichy R-C-M-P and the R-C-M-P collision reconstructionist continue to look into the collision.
