A suspicious package was left in the passenger arrival terminal at Fort McMurray International Airport on Christmas Day.
The call came in at 4:30 p.m. and all Scheduled passenger flights were suspended. Fort McMurray RCMP were waiting for the arrival of the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) from Edmonton.
At 12:15 a.m. this morning (Sunday), the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) determined the package was not an explosive or dangerous, and no longer suspicious in nature.
RCMP say they are continuing their investigation under the Canadian Aviation Security Regulations and Aeronautics Act.
