Loon Lake RCMP continue to ask for the public’s help in tracking down two wanted men.

Kashtin Lee Sandfly has not been located in connection to a gun being fired at a home on the Island Lake First Nation. RCMP found a man injured in the home. That was around 8 a.m. on December 21 and approximately four hours later, after efforts to locate a suspect vehicle were unsuccessful, officers responded to a report of a man found injured inside a vehicle on a remote, snowy road.

The RCMP investigation has lead to charges against other individuals.

Thirty-year-old Kirk Crookedneck from Island Lake First Nation is facing four charges, among them Attempted Murder and Aggravated Assault.

Andrew Opikokew, age 22 years, of Mudie Lake First Nation and 32-year-old Harold Junior Mitsuing from Island Lake First Nation are facing various weapons charges.

Kirk Crookedneck and Andrew Opikokew are back in court on January 6.

Both Kashtin Sandfly and Harold Junior Mitsuing are still at large. Mitsuing is described as being 6 feet tall, 180 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is known to frequent the communities of Island Lake First Nation, Mudie Lake First Nation, and Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation. If you see either Sandfly or Mitsuing, do not approach, they may be armed and are considered dangerous.
