There is a tentative agreement between Unifor Local 820 and the Water Security Agency, one of the 7 Crown entities that has been affected by job action since last Friday after negotiations came to a stand still. The agreements aren’t being released until the contract is ratified. WSA President and CEO, Susan Ross, says they are thankful for the dedicated efforts of the negotiators who have been working hard with the management team to come up with this deal.
Previously the government had been offering a 5 per cent increase over 5 years, with no increase in the first 2 years. Unifor calls that a wage freeze. Unifor National President Jerry Dias says Saskatchewan MLAs received a 2.3 per cent increase and if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for Unifor members.
