Saskatoon Transit and SGI are partnering to offer free late-night transit service tonight (fri) for New Year’s Eve. Director of Saskatoon Transit, Jim McDonald says “Having free Transit service on New Year’s Eve removes any financial barrier to planning a safe ride home after a night out.” Saskatoon Transit says residents are encouraged to think about using a variety of transportation options on busy nights like New Year’s. You can plan your trip taking the bus from a busy area like downtown and book a ride share for the short distance to your home all from inside the transit app. Free bus service will be available from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m.

In Prince Albert, residents will also be able to access free transit service tonight (fri) for New Year’s Eve. From 7:15 p.m. to approximately 3:15 a.m., free bus service will operate on regular evening frequency at half-hour intervals. Mayor Greg Dionne says he’s pleased that they have offered this program in Prince Albert for more than years. This year, there are five routes that will serve the city and all routes will meet at the downtown Central Transit Transfer Station.
