Saskatoon has been under an extreme cold warning for a week now, although that advisory will likely be lifted for a short period on Sunday before another run with the cold starting Monday.

Natalie Hasell with Environment Canada says the day to get out and do some errands will be Sunday as a low-pressure system from Alberta will dive into Saskatchewan bringing a one-day break from the frigid cold to central and southern Saskatchewan.

“Sunday’s your warmest day in the forecast and warmest night. Monday, not a lot of recuperation there and then temperatures return to very cold by the time we get to the middle of next week.”

Temperatures will start to cool down come Monday. The high for that day is expected to be around minus 20.

Sunday is calling for a high of around minus 7.
