RCMP have released more details about a fatal three vehicle pileup yesterday (Monday) afternoon on Highway 16 . . . one kilometer west of Maidstone. It started off with a collision between a pickup truck and a snow plow around 2:50pm . A second pickup truck then collided with the snowplow. Visibility was poor at the time due to snow and blowing snow

There were four people in that second truck. A 47 year old woman and a 24 year old woman—both from Beaumont, Alberta were pronounced dead one the scene. Two men . . . the driver and a third passenger were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The man driving the first truck also had non-life threatening injuries . . . while the snow plow driver was not injured. The investigation into the collision continues.
