Melfort RCMP say the dangerously cold weather is adding to the concerns for a 30 year old man who has been missing since Monday. Quade Ballantyne was last seen in Melfort on Monday evening. He said he was heading to Prince Albert, possibly on foot, but that hasn’t been confirmed. Police say he was last heard from about 1 the next morning.

RCMP have been searching Melfort and the immediate surrounding area on foot, by snowmobile and using a drone, along with help from local fire services, Ministry of Environment Conservation Officers, police from neighbouring detachments and Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services.

Residents in Melfort and area are asked to check their properties, particularly outbuildings, for any signs of Quade, and/or clothing or other items that seem out of place. Anyone with information is asked to call the police or submit a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
