You may see an increased police presence in Saskatoon’s Fairhaven neighbourhood.

Police are currently on the scene of an investigation in the 30 block of Bushe Place.

Members of the public are asked to avoid the area or follow Police direction.

A similar message was issued on Wednesday for the Meadowgreen neighbourhood when police set up a perimeter in the 800 block of Appleby Drive.

That situation had stemmed from an incident in the 1600 block of 37th Street West, around 3:45 a.m., when police responded to a report of a man threatening a woman with a gun who then fled the scene with a stolen wallet and cell phone.

When the police plane located a suspect vehicle there were an additional two stolen vehicles at the scene and that was on Appleby Drive. Five people had reportedly left a vehicle and entered a suite of a building on the block.

Eight hours after the situation got underway, it came to a close when five people exited the building without incident. Police seized keys for two vehicles, numerous firearms and ammunition.

A 26 year old man is facing 19 firearms-related charges as well as charges of using a weapon while uttering threats, uttering threats to cause death, assault, possession of stolen property over $5,000, theft and breach of conditions.

Two men, 24 and 25 years old, face 19 firearm possession-related charges, as well as charges of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breach of conditions. Two women, 21 and 31 are facing 11 firearm possession-related charges and possession of stolen property over $5,000.
