The provincial government is partnering with the Saskatchewan Foster Families Association with the goal of equipping caregivers providing specialized care to children and youth with complex needs with some additional funding. Phase Two of the Parent Resources for Information, Development and Education, or PRIDE, levels of pay will equip caregivers through enhanced education and with extra pay.

Social Services Minister Lori Carr says, “Implementing this levelled payment structure will encourage foster parents to co complete specialized training which, in turn, will allow more children and youth with specialized need to reside in family-based care.” Phase One was implemented in late 2019 with $2.74-million in funding from the government and Phase Two means an additional just over $1.5-million.
