Premier Scott Moe tweeted this morning (thurs) saying that he has tested positive for COVID-19 on a rapid antigen test. The premier says he’s feeling fine and that he will be working form home for the next five days.
An advisory from the Premier’s Office Thursday morning says Moe isn’t experiencing any symptoms and that he checks his status through testing on a regular basis. All close contacts of the premier have been notified.
On Monday, the premier was in La Loche along with Education Minister Dustin Duncan to announce a new elementary school in that community. On that same day, Moe was in Buffalo Narrows along with Duncan and Everett Hindley, Minister for Rural and Remote Health. A picture posted to Hindley’s Twitter account showed Premier Moe with his mask down while taking a sip of coffee. Moe also visited Pinehouse and Lac La Ronge on Monday the 10th.
On Wednesday, Moe was in Regina alongside Chief Medical Health officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab for a provincial COVID-19 briefing. During the news conference, Moe took his mask off while he was speaking and taking questions from reporters.
All reporters who attended the news conference have been asked to self-monitor and are advised to take a rapid test.
Moe’s last negative test was Sunday evening and his positive test was this morning (thurs).
