A 27-year-old Saskatoon man who has admitted to manslaughter has received a ten year prison sentence.
Blair Prokopetz was charged with first degree murder in the death of Ken Peter Balan but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge last June.
Balan was taken to St. Paul’s Hospital in early July of 2018 after being found badly injured in the north alley in the 14-hundred block of 20th Street West.
The 27-year-old died from his injuries in hospital.
Saskatoon Police announced the arrest of Prokopetz in late September of 2018 saying the victim and accused knew each other.
The sentence for Prokopetz will be trimmed by 576 days for time served throughout the court process.
