It’s a new age. The Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Team has seized 3D printed firearms. Police say officers executed a search warrant in Weyburn on November 21st and found a number of firearms, including two 3D printed firearms.

On January 11th, CRT officers arrested 26 year old Justin McMahon, who is facing charges which include manufacturing a restricted weapon, and manufacturing a prohibited weapon, possessing a restricted weapon together with readily accessible ammunition, and possessing a prohibited weapon while not being the holder of the registration certificate from the gun.

Staff Sergeant Scott Lambie with the CRT, says, “It’s illegal to manufacture a firearm unless you have a proper firearms business licence to do so.” He adds that illegal firearms can present risk to community safety and illegally manufactured guns are of extra concern because they have no serial number so they can’t be traced if used in a crime.
