The Saskatoon Police Service’s Guns and Gangs Unit is still on the scene following an early Monday morning incident in which a 24-year-old man was arrested for brandishing a firearm at a residence in the 300 block of 29th Street West.
Police responded to a report of a man armed with a firearm at the residence shortly before 5:30 Monday morning and received further information upon arrival at the home that the armed male had pointed the firearm at other occupants inside. Between the S-P-S Tactical Support Unit, Canine and Crisis Negotiator Teams and the initial patrol unit, they were able to take the man into custody at around 8 a.m. Several others from inside the residence were arrested on outstanding warrants. Traffic restrictions that had been in place were lifted shortly after the arrests were made.
