The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority was the victim of a cyber attack on Christmas Day, which may have exposed some personal information of employees. In a news release, the SLGA says independent cyber security experts were brought in to help.
The Crown Corporation is issuing a notification to current and former employees to provide credit monitoring to those affected. There are no findings at this point which indicate personal information has been used in any way. As well, the SLGA is not aware of any impact to client information and will provide updates as appropriate. The Crown Corporation’s Distribution Centre has resumed full operations, and continues to work with retailers and liquor suppliers to ensure product is on the shelves. Work continues to bring other systems online, including SLGA’s website.
