The Saskatchewan SPCA in partnership with the Provincial Association of Transition Houses and Services of Saskatchewan, otherwise known as PATHS, is holding a few webinars to discuss the link between violence to humans and animals. There was a webinar on finding spaces to shelter animals and families together earlier this week.

On January 26th, the Becoming Pet Friendly” webinar provides guidance for domestic violence shelters, and then February 9th, the webinar called “Take Action” is about how to help victims of domestic violence and their pets. Crystal Giesbrecht with PATHS says their research with survivors, service providers and the public found significant support for domestic violence shelters to welcome pets. The two organizations are working together to make this a reality.
