The Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce is applauding the Workers Compensation Board for continuing cost relief for employers with accepted COVID-19 claims. CEO of the Saskatchewan Chamber, Steve McLellan says the Chamber believes it’s unfair to unduly penalize employers for COVID-related claims, especially with all the work that has been done to follow protocols like physical modifications and modified practices to protect employees.

McLellan adds that the SCC discussed concerns of the business community with the WCB, and they appreciate that the WCB heard the concerns and then incorporated new information regarding the Omicron variant to re-evaluate its position.
