Premier Scott Moe has hinted yet again that Saskatchewan’s proof of vaccination will come to an end soon.

In a letter to truckers yesterday (sat), the premier said “My government supports your call to end the cross border ban on unvaccinated truckers.” Moe added “And it is why, in the not-too-distant future, our government will be ending our proof of negative test/proof of vaccination policy.”

Last week, when speaking on a local radio show, the premier said the proof of vaccination policy has ran its course for the most part. Moe said during that show “I think we’re getting to a point now where those that are not vaccinated likely aren’t going to get vaccinated.”

In Scott Moe’s Saturday message to truckers, he thanked every trucker, farmer and individual that has contributed to keeping our communities operating since the start of the pandemic.

Moe explained how vaccinations aren’t currently reducing transmission and that the policy for truckers crossing the international border “makes no sense”.

Hundreds of protestors gathered on Parliament Hill Saturday protesting against the vaccine mandate for truckers, although others in the crowd were there to protest public health orders in general.

Today, trucker rallies are being held at many locations across the country, including on Parliament Hill in Ottawa and in various communities in Saskatchewan.
