CP Rail says at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday night, a freight train struck an individual at the railway crossing on Highway 316, north of Clavet. That person, neither identified as male or female, is deceased.

Highway 316 runs North and South Between Highways 5 and the Yellowhead. The RCMP says the highway re-opened around 1 a.m. Thursday morning.
