The Wicihitowin Indigenous Engagement Conference wrapped up Thursday at Saskatoon’s T-C-U Place.
Over 800 experts, community leaders, elders and youth have gathered to discuss the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s Calls to Action and how to make Indigenous engagement and inclusion happen.
Delegates have been hearing from from a diverse lineup of 50 keynote speakers and panelists from across Canada over the past two days.
Their topics range from improving Indigenous health, the impact of colonialism on Indigenous culture and the safety of Indigenous women and girls.
The conference has also paid tribute to residential school survivors.
Their stories are being shared to promote understanding and healing.
Organizers say this year’s event has the highest attendance in its five year history.
