The Moose Jaw RCMP responded to multiple accidents on Highway 1 on Saturday morning, both east and westbound, completely blocking traffic in both directions. The first involved two semis and a passenger vehicle, then another with eight semis and two passenger vehicles, and the third included five semis and two passenger vehicles.
Visibility was reduced at the time due to fog, wind and snowy weather conditions. One person was transported to hospital with injuries.
The Moose Jaw Detachment thanks Moose Jaw Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan, the Moose Jaw Police Service, Saskatchewan Highways, the Moose Jaw and Caronport Fire Departments and Moose Jaw EMS for helping out. It took about seven hours to clear the lanes.
